Mechanical Octopus Tentacle Prosthetic Arms for Humans

This is a prototype concept by Kaylene Kau wherein she wants to have everyone looking like octopuses by the year 2015. Let's hope she succeeds, cause these arms are quite awesome. Read on to see how they are supposed to work and what you can do with them.

Welcome to FIGHT NIGHT! in one corner with 250 pounds, WE HAVE THE UNDERTAKER!! And in the other corner with 30 pounds, WE HAVE A WEIRD OCTOPUS!!!! Can you notice that some idiot wants to make us look like OCTOPUSES? Come on, we are made to not look like those creatures. While it can have advantages over the classic prosthetic limb, is society ready to enter that realm of human modification? I'm not saying that this limb is too provocative, however, by integrating it into society we would only be encouraging the production of more extreme ideas similar to this. Thus, blurring the line between what we view as reality and science fiction.
I'm not sure why some are saying "are we ready for body modifications" when this is to replace a missing limb, which I believe is body modification in itself. How is this different than other prosthetics such as hooks, claspers, claws, grabbers, etc that have been used in the past? Would you rather the person not have anything at all to make life easier? You people are fools and obviously don't know how useful this would be for someone missing a limb. As for the sexual references, cool! The more toys the better! :)

Do a Google search for Oscar Pistorius. He is a double-amputee runner who was disqualified from the Olympics for having an unfair advantage. He expends less energy to gain the same performance as other, natural-legged runners. That's right; his prosthetic legs give him an advantage over natural legs.
The octopus arm in this article is very low-tech, and it would work for an immediate solution. But with nanotechnology advances, you can expect to see prosthetic body limbs and organs which perform better than their natural counterparts. Imagine synthetic blood that carries oxygen more efficiently than natural blood. It sounds crazy, but these are the kinds of things that are happening.
I guess my point is that, whether society is ready or not, the technology is going to hit us sooner and more suddenly than we think.
I wish people with prosthetics wouldn't always go for flesh colored. Be PROUD of your cool robo arm, like this!

Something like this would even have potential for non-handicapped people.
As for body modding... c'mon. There are people running around with split tongues, embedded horns, filed-down teeth... there is no overwhelming outcry against them. If it genuinely meets a need, even if it's a niche market no pun intended, octopi-armed people will appear!
And definitely this thing looks promising for stimulating the G-spot. If it can flick the tip even faster than a human finger, women the world over will be lopping their lovers' arm off.
I've seen enough hentai to know where this is going...
