New Battle: Los Angeles Trailer Makes Earth Look Worth Saving

March is my least favorite month out of the year, but maybe this March will be different. 3-11-2011 Battle: Los Angeles will be hitting the theaters hard and this new trailer is making it look pretty awesome.

I, for one, enjoy the more realistic portrayal of the human military versus viciously resource hungry aliens. OMG it's Avatar in reverse!? Maybe, but I am willing to bet that skyline wishes it took this approach. What do you think?

Can't wait... Hope it's a trilogy with some substantive story. Not that "skyline" kind of unresolved plot about the whinny pleas of some douchebags trapped in a penthouse.

But why every new alien attack trailers have to destroy my poor speakers with their ultra hyper mega bass subwoofer sound FXs? I grit my teeth everytime I hear my babies howl in anguish. I know they are crap but I don't want to replace them everytime there's a fade-in fade-out of some humongus alien mechanoshit dropping out of the sky.

Cheers... Thanks for the awsomeness.

Exactly...
See, I do not know much about this overall storyline, as I would really enjoy knowing little and letting it unfold. BUT... it would be a sweet idea if it was in the perspective of 3 major cities around the globe during the attacks. That is something I could get into.

I really hope they keep the military action clean and down the lines of the hurt locker.

BUT.. we will see, regardless... I am already sold on it. :)

Good Idea.

3 cities around the world. Would be cool to watch the Aliens attack Ryadh or the Mecca and see the muslims call a fatwa haraad on their asses. Whole new dimension on the attack with a religious twist.

or maybe let the invanders tango with one billion chineses and their endless waves of canon fodder.

or Moscow, Tokyo...

But my opinion is that it can't be done. The movies would have to please an american public first so it must be an american trilogy. A classic trilogy structure would work such as:

Movie 1: Invasion and Defeat
Movie 2: Reorganization, reverse-engineering of alien technology (If they need our ressources, It means their technology is at least to a certain degree based somehow on the same components as ours (metal, plastic, alloys etc.) . Call for retribution.
Movie 3: Retaliation and Global Victory. Tagteam the american army with a few and somehow less efficient foreign forces just to pretend it's not totally a ultrapatriotic movie and don't throw in a fighterjock president like in ID4.

And let's try not to use an atom bomb this time around. We are always remainded in every movie that it ain't workin' on alien energy shields, or they are able to regenerate themselves like the fucking Borg.

Dig the site! Dig the trailer! But I am wary because the first trailer for Skyline was really cool as well. Talking about hostile aliens have you read this article http://www.space.com/10578-study-fear-aliens-dangerous-extraterrestrials.html. Good paranoia inducing stuff.
