Forged long ago in the lost Elf kingdom of Gondolin, Orcrist, the ‘goblin cleaver’, was a legendary blade, well known to the wise of Middle-earth and infamous among their enemies.

$10,000 for a sword? I don't care how "accurate" of a replica it is, that is steep as fuck. I don't even think the very rare real sword smiths that still practice traditional Japanese sword making (which is limited by the Japanese government) charge that much for an authentic sword, let alone traditional sword smiths that produce authentic weapons from any place, and I would rather have an authentic weapon than this fantasy, probably machine made, one. Even if it was hand forged, too much to ask for, considering the real props in the movies probably wouldn't even sell for that much at an auction, which I would also rather buy.
To CHRIS B.,
Authentic, traditionally made, Japanese swords from desirable periods easily cost over $30,000.
Me.
traditionally made by licensed swordsmiths in japan costs from 30k and even over 100k (leaning on the 100k side). there are master smiths who forge functional swords for reasonable prices of around 400 USD (with the obvious caveat of you get what you pay for, as in better swords of 1k+ USD area available, but tend to have frills that aren't all that necessary). That being said this however seems to just be taking advantage of lotr fans and is a blatant cash grab. can't see anything about this glorified machete justifying the 9 500 overpricing.
