Hugely Geeky 8-Foot-Tall R2-D2 Sculpture From Cardboard & Duct Tape

This giant Star Wars R2-D2 geek sculpture was made for the 'Dr. StrangeLen or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Make the Art' exibit at the Bowman Arts Centre in Lethbridge, Alberta Canada. The R2-D2 unit was constructed primarily with cardboard,  aluminum tape highlights and some detailed painting... all which were bound together with the mega-powerful duct tape.

Massive Optimus Prime Statue Made from Scrap Car Parts

Making transformer scultpures is no new thing, but wow, this Optimus Prime scultpure is impressively huge. About 18 feet tall! These are Anchalee Saengtai's giant metal robots, she is that lady that you see in the photo above. Her company, yumimodal located in Bangkok, started back in 2002 and hot damn, does she have one of the most impressive scifi metal sculpture collections these eyes have ever seen. Read on.

Massive Avatar Mosaic Made from 4,000 Bluray Discs

Laura Hadland had a little time on her hands, so she decided to contact 20th Century Fox and had them ship out about 4,000 bluray discs, apparently made to her specifications, in order to make this giant mosaic in homage to Avatar.

Hypercarnivorous Shark-like Whale Attacks a Freakin Whale

 

Whales are goddamn HUGE. Ok.. for example... Imagine something massive (hey.. stay out of my pants) then take that idea and multiply it by roughly TONS. Now, take that, add teeth to it and put it into the oceans. They call it a Leviathan melvillei and it would be the hugest meanest beast around... around 12 - 13 million years ago (ok, back in my pants).
